Hey, quick question: do you think it’s possible to charge a Hornet RT with a Tesla charger? I’m having a hard time finding any Chargepoint L2 chargers nearby. Has anyone tried this yet? Is it compatible, or are there any issues I should know about? TY

Tesla Superchargers are designed for pure electric vehicles and pump out a massive amount of current – something like 300 amps. My Charger R/T, on the other hand, can only handle 32 amps. That's a huge difference!
Trying to charge a hybrid like mine on a Supercharger is a bad idea. You're likely to see some serious warning signs, and you could even damage the battery.

It's always best to stick with the right charger for your vehicle. Luckily, my R/T has the gasoline engine to help out when I can't find a proper charging station."

Got it! Makes way more sense now. I didn’t realize the amp difference was that big. I was kind of hoping I could just use the Tesla charger as a backup if I couldn’t find an L2 station. Guess it’s safer to just stick to looking for Chargepoint or other compatible chargers. Thanks for the heads-up!
