Rear Suspension Wobble on Smooth Roads

I’m hoping someone here might have some insight into an issue I’ve been dealing with on my 2024 Hornet R/T Plus, which I purchased in October 2023. From day one, I’ve noticed a strange bounciness or wobble in the rear suspension, even on freshly paved, smooth roads. It feels like the car is riding on gelatin.

Here’s what’s happened so far:
  • First visit: The shop replaced the rear driver-side rim and tire. The problem persisted.
  • Second visit: I drove a stock Hornet for comparison, and it was noticeably stiffer with no wobble. The dealer said they’d contact Chrysler engineers and follow up but never did.
  • Third visit: I brought the car back, but I kept hearing excuses like, “It’s a sports car,” or “The sport tires make you feel every bump.” However, I shouldn’t feel this kind of bounciness on a smooth road, and I’ve seen reviews and forum posts describing how smooth this car should be.
I also opened a case with Dodge Cares, but their suggestion to try another dealer hasn’t worked out due to a lack of loaner cars in my area.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with their Hornet? Could it be a suspension calibration issue or something deeper?

I haven’t experienced this on my Hornet, but it might be worth looking into whether there’s been a recall or Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) issued for this model. Since it’s a 2024, it’s still early, but sometimes these issues pop up after a few cars report similar problems. Dodge Cares should be able to confirm if any updates are available, but you might also find something by digging into online resources.

I’ve read about similar complaints with the Hornet. It might be worth pushing for a more thorough inspection, especially if other owners haven’t reported the same issue.
