When I use the remote start on my car, the daytime running lights flash on and off like a disco ball. Is this normal, or is there something going on?

According to the owner's manual, when using Remote Start, the parking lights remain on There might be a way to turn them off, but I haven't found it yet...

Is it possible that there is a faulty ABS module? I think you should contact your local dealer about this. If it is what I think it is then it should be coded by the dealership. This may be because of an update that was not performed correctly and now it's causing this issue.

I've noticed the parking lights turning on and staying on only once when I remotely started our car.
That was when it was using the gas engine, though. Usually, the battery has enough charge, so the gas engine doesn't need to run.

I thought that might be how it was supposed to work, but now I've seen the lights stay off even when the gas engine is running.
It's really annoying that I can't tell if the remote start worked just by looking at the car.

The app has been pretty helpful in telling me if it was successful or not.

But here's what the Owner's manual says:
With Remote Start, the engine will only run for 15 minutes.
Remote Start can only be used twice.
If an engine fault is present or fuel level is low, the vehicle will start and then shut down in 10 seconds.
The parking lights will turn on and remain on during Remote Start mode.
