Weird Horn Issues on My GT Plus

Hey everyone, Here’s a weird one for you. A couple of days ago, I took my GT Plus through a car wash and stopped for gas. Everything seemed fine until I was driving home, and someone started merging into my lane. I honked, but the horn sounded really odd, like a high-pitched tone instead of the usual sound. I thought it was a fluke and shrugged it off.

I got stuck behind someone at a green light, went to honk again, and...nothing. No sound at all. Pulled over to check things out since this felt like a pretty big safety concern. The fuse looked fine, and I could hear the relay clicking, but the horn just wasn’t working. I swapped the fuse and relay out, still nothing. Swapped them back to the originals, and suddenly the horn worked again, super weird!

Fast forward, I drove home, parked, and when I got back to the car later, the horn was dead again. By Sunday morning, I started the car, and voilà, the horn was back and hasn’t failed since. I double-checked the connections, and everything seems normal.

Has anyone else had this happen? It feels so random, but I’m wondering if it’s just me or the start of a broader trend with the GT Plus.

I guess this happens when drivers don't know how to drive... somehow, I feel your frustration.

that’s super strange.... I haven’t had this happen on my GT Plus, but I’ll definitely be keeping an ear out now. Could the car wash have shorted something out temporarily? Electronics can be so finicky sometimes. Maybe it’s just a one-off thing, but if it happens again, it’s probably worth mentioning to the dealer.

First, check the fuse for the horn. Then, use a multimeter to see if the wires going to the horn are getting power. Turn on the car and press the horn button – you should see power every time you press it.

If you do get power, then the horn itself is probably broken.
